The Wangen pump repair was initiated by our client as an emergency breakdown.
Their Biogas facility relied solely on one pump for its semi dry feed to the digestor tanks. This pump suffered catastrophic failure by way of shearing the auger shaft. This caused an entire plant shutdown until repairs were carried out.
Our client called on Ferrier Pumps, Aberdeen to arrange removal, stripdown, inspection, repair & installation as quickly as possible. The client supplied all free issue spare parts.
Project Specifics
The entire AD Biogas facility was in shutdown due to failure, Ferrier’s attended site the next day, removed the Wangen pump using lorry mounted Hiab and returned to the workshop.
The pump was stripped down and inspected in 1 day, rebuilt and tested in 1 day and returned to site on day 4 for installation and commissioning.
The plant restarted successfully.
