Maintenance
It was identified as part of Scottish Water’s Wastewater SR15 Capital Maintenance Programme to allow the works to comply with current Scottish Water Standards and Specifications and to ensure that the serviceability of the plant can be secured by replacing poorly performing assets.
Scottish Water engaged their wastewater infrastructure alliance partner, aBV, to manage the overall scheme, however, the detailed design and delivery of the scheme was carried out by aBV’s own tier 1 alliance partner, Ferrier Pumps.

The project consisted of the delivery, erection and commissioning of a new MCC, complete with PLC/HMI/ICA; 2 bridge mounted LCPs for PST scrapers; a kiosk which was placed on an elevated platform due to the site’s proximity to the River Tweed; decommissioning & removal of the pumphouse MCC and sludge MCC.
The civil and mechanical works included new cable ducts; draw-pits and trenchwork.
The electrical installation included earth installation; the decomissioning and removal of Poly Mix LCP & PST scraper LCPs and the mains power distribution board; a number of isolation boards and cable management.
The works were fully tested and commissioned including telemetry and end to end testing to SW standards & specifications.
